Communication skill - a must


Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology (AIET), Tamaram, and St. Theressa Institute of Engineering and Technology (STIET), Garividi, jointly hosted a two-day symposium on technology and education titled, Inforealm-2K4 from Thursday. The symposium was attended by over 1,200 students from various engineering colleges across the State.

The students had the opportunity to listen to eminent professors from reputed institutes like G.S. Sanyal and Jayantha Pal, IIT- Kharagpur; R. Chandrashekaran, NIT- Warangal; and P. Prabhakara Rao and N. Challamaiah, J N TU Engineering College- Kakinada. Over 150 students presented technical papers on various topics.

Addressing the students at the valedictory function the Joint Director of Technical Education, Government of AP, P.T. Prabhakar who was also the chief guest, stressed that learning is a continuous process and one should always be in the lookout for acquiring communication skills and proficiency in English.

Apart from the professors from various institutes the symposium was attended by the chairman of the group, M. Srinivasa Rao; director, southern region of AICTE, M. Ravichandran; joint director, Technical Education Government of AP, P.T. Prabhakar and the principals of AIET and STIET, B. Satyam and V.V. Narayana Murthy respectively.
