Students of MVP Public School presenting a drama
The Public School, MVP Colony celebrated its annual day recently. Cultural and sports competitions were organised and winners were awarded prizes. District Collector, Sunil Sharma, participated as chief guest. The principals, P. Mahalakshmi (ICSE stream) and M. Saroj Mohan (SSC stream) presented the annual reports. The students won the appreciation of parents and the guests with the play, `Julius Caesar', an aerobic dance and a tableau on national integration.

A. Sagarika, a Std. X pupil of Pollocks School, secured the State first rank in the J.V. Rao Group Talent Search Examination conducted in January 2004. Students from many schools all over the State had participated in the examination. Sagarika will receive a gold medal at the awards ceremony to the held in Hyderabad in June this year, according to the school principal, Sandeep Chitra.

The annual prize distribution function of Sri TVS Rao Sri Krishna Vidya Mandir, Dwarakanagar, was held recently. The Additional Senior Civil Judge, B. Rama Rao, who participated as chief guest, advised the children to take part in extra-curricular activities apart from their studies for their all round development. He gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions.

K.V. Udayanath, a Std. VI pupil of Timpany Secondary School bagged the `Young genius award' by securing the district I rank in the XI State level talent search examination conducted by the Vishwabharathy Foundation. The award will be presented to him at a function to be organised at the Telugu Lalitha Kala Thoranam in Hyderabad.

Students of Olivet School, Vinay Agarwal (Std. VI) secured the district 3rd rank and L. Satya Prakash (Std. VII), P.S. Jayadev (Std. IX) and K.V.M. Prashant (Std. X) bagged the 4th rank at the IV State level Maths Talent Test conducted by the Association for Improvement of Maths Education. Visakha Valley School bagged two gold medals in the under-16 CBSE National Badminton Tournament held in Lucknow recently. The boys and girls who participated in the tournament are: M. Anil Kumar, Kanishka Anand, P. Jaya Jawahar, J. Kalyan Kumar, Ch. Ramayya Teja and G. Divya.
Ch. Ramayya Teja got a gold medal in the individual champion singles under-16 category. District Collector and Chairman of the school, Sunil Sharma and the school principal, P. Sharda, congratulated the team on its victory.
