In a fix

THIS SUMMER will see the release of two Vijay films, "Udaya" and "Gilli". "Gilli," produced by A. M. Ratnam and directed by Dharani, is a Rs. 15-crore extravaganza, scheduled for release on April 9. But now a spanner has been thrown in the carefully laid out plans of Vijay and Ratnam, as producer `Pyramid' Natarajan is hell bent on releasing his long delayed "Udaya" before the end of March. Vijay's fans are insistent that they should be given time to publicise "Udaya" in which he is paired with Simran, his lucky heroine. Said `Pyramid' Natarajan: "All the hassles regarding "Udaya" have been sorted out. The film will be a treat for Vijay's fans. A. R. Rahman has composed some peppy numbers." Meanwhile, the trade is not happy as the films may clash with each other, creating chaos among the fans of Ilayathalapathy.
