Road to recovery

THANKS TO the two recent big hits, Ravichandran's Malla and young filmmaker Prem's Excuse me, the Kannada film industry is looking forward to better days ahead. Prem's debut film, Kariya too was a box-office hit. Now another director from the young generation, Sunil Mokasi, whose first film, Athma won rave reviews, has just completed work on his second film, Kanasu. As the title indicates, the film is about dreams. according to Mokasi. But one thing is sure — Sunil Mokasi had a dream, to become a hero and a director. With this film he has fulfilled his dream of directing himself. Newcomer Sanjana plays his leading lady as Sameer Kulkarni set the tunes. Sunil Mokasi hopes the film will click like his maiden mega television serial, Kavaludaari, which is running successfully.
