The big budget survivor

JYOTHIKA COMPLETES five years in Tamil films this May, which makes her one of the longest survivors in an industry where heroines hardly last a year! It speaks volumes for Jyothika's resilience, willpower and professionalism.

However, she is facing stiff competition from younger heroines such as Trisha and Sonia Agarwal who are trying to occupy the top slot vacated by Simran. But still Jyothika continues to be the hot favourite of superstars in big budget films. Now this summer she has two biggies "Arul" with Vikram and "Peralagan" with Surya due for release. Both are releasing simultaneously and even if one of them clicks, the bubbly actress will continue to be the number one heroine. Meanwhile, Jyothika has an insurance cover as she is doing three films in Telugu with Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and Ravi Teja!
