Come, Eat Something

As the cool breeze from the air-cons makes the environs pleasant, the opulence of ambience in Comesum is sure to add value to the railway station, says A. SAYE SEKHAR

THINK OF a Wendy's outlet or a Dunkin Donuts inside the LaGuardia Airport in New York. Or should it be a Starbucks coffee shop in Midway or O'Hare Airport in Chicago. Can you think of anything of that ilk in any of our transport hubs? You don't have to. After all, now it is there. Very much in front of us. Sounds incredible!? Yep. But, it's true.

A fabulous food court is spruced up for inauguration at our very own Vijayawada Railway Station. The busiest railway station in South India is now adorned with the trendiest multi-cuisine round-the-clock food plaza, Comesum.

The world class facility is just an addition of glory to the glittering railway station. If at all there is anything modern for a Vijayawadaite to brag about, it is the railway station.

It has a couple of escalators - a facility exclusive to our railway station in South India. Gourmets can ask for anything.

Be it a chicken corn soup or a mushroom curry. Or, be it just a plate of Idli-wada-sambar and a strong south India coffee. Wanna veg-pizza or a chicken burger? Or can you satiate hunger with just a coke? Just you name it, you have it there.

Take a break from your busy work schedule and drive through to the station. It may be a herculean task to find a suitable parking for your car or a bike. But, certainly not a food joint to take your grub. Should one oblige his spouse and kiddies to drive them for an evening outing? Think of this great railway bazaar. It's, sure, going to become a favourite pastime.

For lathi-brandishing cops, the buck stops here. They will now have to think twice before doing it at nights. For, Comesum essentially entices the connoisseurs of food. Meaning: this becomes the pioneer for night life in the ''down town Vijayawada''.

The RK Associates and Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation, in association with the South Central Railway, put up this burnished rendezvous for those breaking their journey and also the denizens of the fast-developing City of Victory. The plush interiors with a dazzling display of delectable dishes enrich the environs too. No wonder if one prefers to stopover here for his nosh.
