Style statement
THE SONGS from Cheran's "Autograph" are not only chartbusters but have also made a style statement all over Tamil Nadu. The white cotton salwar-kameez with a printed dupatta that Sneha wears in the song: "Ovvoru Pookkalume... " has become the latest fashion among college goers in Chennai and other cities. With the result, white salwar sets priced from Rs. 200 upward are much sought after in Pondy Bazaar. And down South in Madurai and Tirunelveli, the `Autograph" saris in bright yellow and red with the Tamil alphabet printed all over (priced at Rs. 150) are selling like hot cakes. It was worn by Gopika in the song picturised in the snow-capped mountains of Kulu-Manali. Said the soft-spoken Cheran: "I feel white is always more attractive than any other colour and it stood out in the song. And when I visualised the song "Mansukkulle Daham..," the idea of designing a sari with the Tamil alphabet came up."
