City's `beauty spot'

Deepa Raparla finds the untiring quest of these Chinese women interesting.

LOOKING GOOD is just not to have that enticing look that can steal the glances; it is also bagging of all the assurance you ever need to win the battle.

Women are the metaphors of beauty and offering them that better look they longed for, which can bring a cheer to their face as well as hike their spirits, is not an easy job. With the enchanting music of Fung-Lings greeting at the doorstep, Mei-Mei -- symptomatic of Beauty-Beauty -- is like a piper magnetizing the people with its knack in transforming anyone into that someone with a gorgeous appeal.

A parlour that was kicked off six years ago by Sonia, the leading beautician, won over the hearts of the beautiful people of Vijayawada with their valued work. Sonia, hailing from Shillong, was resolute on molding an identity for herself which categorically shaped into this demanding parlor. Belonging to a diverse a origin with her mother being a Nepalese and father, a Chinese, Sonia descended on Vijayawada in the quest of her career.

With her six sisters, also from Shillong and adept in what they do, they collectively stand as a success in revamping the appearance of her clients. Though the outcome was not as expected in the start, lately the awareness in the people conscious about glamour has increased extensively. ''My long wait has finally paid off,'' says Sonia with a gleeful smile. The girls chirping through in their friendly slang, imbibed from the local buddies, trying to converse with loads of smiles embedded, is an attention-grabbing milieu.

"Strolling down to the nearby ice-cream joint with my sisters, or just pooling up in front of the television set to watch a Bollywood movie offers us the complete break we can call for anytime from our hectic schedule,'' says Sonia with a quick smirk. Sonia, who is a professional in hairdressing, considers it to be her realm of expertise. Perms, streaks, dyes, hair-styles or just the simple blow dry; the whole lot that can offer you an absolutely different image is her sphere of interest.

Well, if you want to pamper yourself with some good treatment and a little that can change your looks for good. Walking into this pleasant place is not a bad idea.
