Paradoxical

It's sad that Kutraleeswaran who made waves as a boy had to quit distance swimming because of lack of sponsorship (Away from the waves, May 27). Sadder still is the fact that he is now in a place where there is no coast. However, I appreciate his down-to-earth approach to life.

On the one hand we're making efforts to encourage sports, while on the other, so many great sportspersons do not even get a break for want of funds. What a paradox!
