Young & happening

HER FORAYS into the telly world began by accident. Keerthi was studying in the IX std when she accompanied her sister for the recording of Dance Baby Dance. One of the channel producers spotted her and enquired if she was interested in anchoring. "I was completely taken by surprise then. I didn't know what to do," she reminisces.

Overcoming initial reluctance, Keerthi started anchoring for Mee Kosam, and realised she fitted the bill perfectly. Only 14 years then, she quickly learnt to cope with the demands of work and stayed on to become one of the most visible faces on Gemini and Teja channels. "Yeah, I was a bit nervous in the early days, but was quick in picking up the nuances of anchoring and gained in confidence," she says.

In the last three years, the cool and composed anchor picked up several new offers and shows while rejecting some, which she did not like. "I believe in doing what I am comfortable doing most."

Presently, Keerthi is handling some of the popular shows on both Gemini and Teja including Navvula Nazrana, Yours Lovingly, Thwaralo and the live show, Lucky Chance. However, she chose to stay away from serials. "I slip into the role of anchoring with certain ease and hence decided to stick to it. As of now, no acting please," says the Intermediate second year student from St. Ann's College.
