Narashimulu, a cerebral palsy patient, showcases his art creations at Hotel Savera today
|
HIS IS a story of determination and achievement against odds. He creates landscapes that are flawless using his feet. Yes, that's Narashimulu, a 28-year-old artist suffering from cerebral palsy, a disease in which a person's movements become jerky and uncontrolled because of brain damage.
Narashimulu has been taken care of by the Andhra Mahila Sabha ever since he was brought there as a one-and-a-half-month-old baby. He gradually learnt to write and draw using his feet, especially his right foot. Arena Multimedia, Vadapalani, encouraged him by providing him with a PC and helped him undergo a multimedia course free of cost. Availing himself of this opportunity, he has created a number of art images using the PC.
In its attempt to help the physically challenged, Hotel Savera is organising an exhibition-cum-sale of the works (numbering 50) of Narashimulu on June 10 at the Yoga Centre Lawn in the hotel premises. The proceeds of the show will go to the artist.
