Prashanth in `Shock'

IT SEEMS Prashanth is concentrating on remakes as far his home productions are concerned. After Jai (remake of Telugu super hit, Aadi) father Thyagarajan had acquired the remake rights of Ramgopal Varma's Bhoot and completed the remake titled as Shock, in a record 26 days. Thyagarajan directed the Tamil version besides dabbling in writing, the dialogue and art direction too. He also made a special appearance as a police officer. Meena replayed Urmila Matondkar's role while Suhasini is taken for Rekha's role. K.R.Vijaya, Abbas, Sarath Babu and Kalaivani are in stellar roles. Though Jai didn't do as expected at the box office, Thyagarajan is hopeful that Shock, due in July would set the cash counters jingle. Those who saw the sneak preview vouch for it as they feel it has come a shade better than the original version. Thyagarajan's Lakshmi Shanti Movies plan to remake it in Malayalam and Kannada too. Meanwhile the good news is that Prashanth has signed two movies for a NRI group based in London. The first one is to be directed by Raghuraj and has Laila in the female lead. Prashanth is shooting for two big banners - Tirumala Arts and Oscar Films. In the former Meera Jasmine co-stars him. And by the year end Thyagarajan plans a bilingual, Arun weds Harini with Prashanth in Tamil and Telugu. By next year it seems he plans to make a comeback in Telugu films too.
