The best of Dylan

WITH A career spanning over four decades, Robert Alan Zimmerman aka Bob Dylan has remained one of rock's most eloquent and unpredictable musicians. The singer-songwriter is perhaps the first to burst pop's optimistic bubble, with music that combines folk, rock and jazz.

Dylan fans in Chennai recently celebrated in style as Lou Majaw belted some classics to pay tribute to the legend. The event took place at The Park's Leather Bar.

With covers encompassing Dylan's vast repertoire, Majaw took music lovers down rock lane, recreating the magic of Dylan's lyrics, sometimes subtle, sometimes hard-hitting. Who can forget "Blowin' in the wind" or "Hey, Mr Tambourine man?"

Truly, it was a rock-soaked glimpse of a musician who revolutionised music and bridged the gap between music and poetry.
