Eternally grateful

HYDERABAD CONTINUES to draw compliments from visitors. Retired IAS officer and columnist S. Shankar Menon was in the city the other day to address management students and professionals at the invitation of All India Management Association and Hyderabad Management Association.

"Hyderabad looked like a European capital to me as I drove down the city," he declared from the podium. He mentioned Anna Hazare, Manmohan Singh and Sania Mirza as making a difference to society. "Why even Chandrababu Naidu made a huge difference to Hyderabad though he may have failed in other parts of the State, his contribution to the State capital is there for every one to see," he said in all sincerity.

Governments may come and go. But Naidu's name is apparently firmly etched in public memory as the man who transformed the face of Hyderabad. No mean achievement this!
