THREE DAYS after Emirates winged itself non-stop from Dubai to New York on the American Independence Day - July 4 - The Pavilion at the ITC Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi, launched `The Great American Chuck Wagon'. The launch of the new flight service with a brand new Emirates airbus A340-500, specifically designed for long haul routes, promises to give Indian passengers a convenient way to fly to the United States. And `The Great American Chuck Wagon' in the form of an American food festival, offers Delhiites an extensive a la carte menu , recreating all-time American favourites drawn from the chuck wagoners.
Open for both lunch and dinner till July 21, the fest has delectable dishes in non-vegetarian like barbecue chicken in true Kentucky style, buffalo style chicken wings and of course, classic American hot dogs, with an array of sumptuous vegetarian recipes promising to tickle the taste buds satisfactorily. Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy scrumptious dishes such as lemon and poppy seed cheesecake, so what if the pastry shops in Greenwich Village in New York City inspire them. The long list does not stop here, with candied Sunkist orange pie with avocado ice cream, always waiting to further give you a great eating experience. Apart from this, other dishes like gumbo ya ya, philli cheese steak, wild rice and celery soup are also the hot favourites with customers.
However, the jackpot for attending the food festival, which is simultaneously on in the cities of Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai, is a lucky draw which will choose two names to hand down a return ticket each to New York, courtesy Emirates.
