Being single

I refer to the article "Blissfully single" (July 8). The consequences of remaining single as mentioned therein may be correct. I would like to add a few more points. Being single may be the root cause for obesity and various bad habits. To fight loneliness, a person may eat and sleep a lot unless he is busy. This process will make him obese. He will also pick up bad habits like drinking and smoking, for there is no one to prevent him from misusing his freedom. Such habits could lead to depression, which in turn would affect his career. Therefore having a life partner will help beat loneliness. Shared thoughts and ideals help one lead a better life.
