All that glitters

TANISHQ, ONE of India's leading jewellers, has announced an intriguing offer for those who want to shop for gold but fear getting conned into buying low quality. Under the 19k=22k offer, available at all its 67 boutiques across the country, customers can bring in their jewellery till August 8 and exchange it for Tanishq jewellery. Tanishq promises to value the customers' jewellery as 22k gold, as long as it is 19k or more.

This is part of the Tata group's Century of Trust celebrations. Kicking off the offer at Tanishq boutique in Delhi, celebrated actress, Hema Malini witnessed the checking of a jewellery item on the karat meter, a machine that measures the purity of gold and diamond and commented, "I am extremely happy to be here and delighted to be associated with Tanishq, which stands for its symbol of substance and purity. Many get inspiration from celebrities, but I do get inspiration from a beautiful place and pure gold and jewellery. I like light jewellery. It makes me feel happy and relaxed."

On the 19k=22k offer and the karatmeter, she added, "Gold purity is of huge concern in India. It is important for people to be made more aware of the adulteration of gold by some jewellers and prevent them from being cheated."
