Dressing for a rainy day

FASHION AND style have gradually become synonymous with seasons. Especially in a country like ours where seasons are pronounced, seasonality is imperative. Thinking of class in women's fashion apparel, Bizarre strikes the mind. Standing mighty for over a decade now, Bizarre believes in changing the rules, crafting a new niche and charting a totally new path of design.

A label that claims to understand the dressing needs of the contemporary woman, Bizarre recently launched its Monsoon 2004 collection. During the day, the weather is sticky and thus natural fabric should preferably be used. Bearing this in mind, Bizarre delves into soft, dry and breezy fabrics. It promises to interpret the coolest trends with chiffon, organza, georgette and crepe. "However, comfort does not mar the prime need of style and looks," says Rajiv Gupta, director, Bizarre. To give that chic look, it has a design team led by Pooja Mehra Gupta who holds a degree in fashion from ICS, Scranton, USA. Natural fabrics get crumpled soon. So, the formal range is made of fabric of polyester mix, which is crush resistant. The evening lines includes dazzling dresses, long skirts, light fitted tops full of asymmetric cuts, glimpsed under fabric in a mix of lace, open work and crochet with refinement. This monsoon, Bizarre promises to make a new statement in denims embellished with pearls and sequins with refreshing motifs and placements.

As for the rains, well who can design the skies?
