Rangulu... HMV... Rs. 35
THE ALBUM, quite justifiably reflects the title. It has a gamut of emotions - of love, friendship, youthful revelry and romance. Producers Mahi and Sreedhar come out with an album, which sounds refreshingly vibrant with new talent - from lyric writers to singers.
The tape starts with Ganesh Stuti and takes off with Ninnu Choosindi, a solo by Srinivasa Sreedhar. Three new singers Radhika Saxena, R. Sudha and G. Pooja sing, a typical teenage song Vayesa Maadi. They give in their best into the rendition but sacrifice pronunciation and intonations for the sake of sounding peppy!! Sreedhar's Naa Kala is a soulful number with good lyrics. C. Sarita renders Pacha Gaddi Paanupundi with right amount of sensuality in her voice. Nee Kosam is a thorough lovey-dovey song sung well by Sreedhar and Radhika Saxena. Eda Tadipina Paata is a melancholic number and singer Mahi does justice.
The last number is Kalimi Lekapoyina on friendship and sung by Sreedhar and Sanjeev.
Though not free from filmy touch, the album is fresh in its concept.

Thoda Tum Badlo Thoda Hum... Mayuri Audio... Rs. 50
AMAR MOHILE scores for this film. Eight songs figure in this album. The music is just about average. The album begins with the title song sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. A routine songs with a good synthesisation. Uff Youma is a peppy sung where Asha Bhonsle's verve is amazing. No tension is a typical youthful song where KK sings with zest.
Kalam hath mein hai on Side B is a rather melodious song with some good orchestration - the best of the album. Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal do a good job singing it. Shreya is able to modulate her voice well. The next song Touba Touba reflects this. She goes back to melodious singing with Aanchal hai pawan. The song as such is not so pleasing.
