KIDS IN ADVERTISEMENTS


KIDS DO not play a major role in advertisements. Even if they appear, its for health drinks, dairy and bakery items relevant to them.

Acting in such advertisements should not intervene with their studies. When child labour cannot be completely eradicated there is no harm in allowing kids in these advertisements.

I have come across a kid who was taking Horlicks because it is "Appidiye sappidalam".

KIDS IN advertisements attract customers more easily. It is a marketing strategy of advertisement agencies as many products in the market are related to kids.

Also, normally a kid's desire to buy a product is not denied by family members.

Buyers should not be carried away by advertisements while buying a product.

ADVERTISEMENTS AIM at influencing consumers. Using kids in ads is handy for the manufacturers/sellers. Curiosity, innocence and playfulness of kids in advertisements are meant for pleasurable watching and not for commercialisation.

IN TODAY'S highly competitive world, advertisements promote sales to a great extent.

There is nothing wrong in employing kids for this purpose.

But the companies must take care that it does not affect the child's education. It must also assure that proper wages are paid to the children.

Only interested kids should be allowed to take part. Taking part in advertisements should not harm the children either physically or mentally.

ADVERTISING AGENCIES effectively use children as models for products ranging from baby soaps to electronic gadgets. Children watching these advertisements get easily attracted and compel their parents to buy them. Such a gimmick causes a divide among children because not all parents can afford the demanded product. Children acting in these advertisements are no exception.

It becomes an attractive early career selection and potentially blocks them from taking to other careers.

Media and advertisement agencies should assume the responsibility of building and nourishing a healthy society and restrain themselves from any such harmful activities.

THE IDEA of introducing kids in advertisements is one way of attracting customers. The fact that these kids are innocent and have no relevant idea of what they are endorsing makes matter easy for the advertising agencies. Parents make models of their children to increase their popularity and star status.

The advertisers lure parents with a paltry sum since hiring famous personalities would be more expensive. I feel advertisements featuring kids should be banned.

ADVERTISEMENTS PLAY a major role in the sale of a product. Nowadays advertisements are more creative and sensible. When a child features in an advertisement, it always looks more natural and not as an actor. A child's innocence attracts more viewers and has a positive impact than the charm of an actor or actress.

ADVERTISEMENTS CAN influence not only buying, but behaviour too. If a young boy is praised by his teacher for his neat uniform it inspires the children watching the ad to keep their dresses neat and it becomes a good habit.

It also helps parents to guide their children. Kids who appear in advertisements become popular so there is no harm in featuring them for health and good behaviour of other children.

THERE IS nothing wrong with kids acting in advertisements. If the product is for kids, then it should be marketed with the help of kids only in order to reach a larger segment of customers. When children act in advertisements, they are no longer stage shy. Shooting is completed fast and so they don't lose academic days. Rather they earn fame and money and help their parents.

ADVERTISEMENTS ATTRACT people in many ways. It is a good field to sell the products in the market. But making kids act is unfortunate. Children at this age should be attending school and free from work. They must develop their creativity.

Advertisements suppress their dreams.

They may help them earn money but they gain no knowledge.

Parents and advertisement companies should not indulge kids in advertisements but take better care of them to make their life bright and meaningful.

TELEVISION IS a powerful mass medium.

And through it, kids reach every home in the form of advertisements.

Nowadays, we can see kids in almost all advertisements. It makes them popular but does this early fame take them on the right path?

They earn money but lose friends. Their studies get affected. Children watching the ads trouble their parents to buy the same even though it may not be suitable.

THESE DAYS most children are hooked on to television and adequately equip themselves for an exposure on the small screen. The natural performance of kids in advertisements grabs the viewers' attention and fulfils the purpose of advertisers. But sadly, the child actors have to sacrifice their golden time.

The ad filmmakers exert pressure on children, making them act like robots.

Initially, the kids may enjoy the performance but it affects them in the long run. They start behaving independently in classroom and elsewhere weakening the bond with their classmates. Advertisements with children in them may be enjoyable but undue pressure should not be exerted on children.

KIDS APPEARING in advertisements is welcome. They get ample opportunity to expose their talents of observation, understanding and expression.

By watching the advertisements in dailies, magazines and television, children of equal age are motivated to cultivate healthy habits like brushing teeth regularly, bathing, taking nutritious food and beverages, studying, sporting, and smartly dressing etc.

They also impress upon kids to develop the attitude of discipline, punctuality, friendliness etc.

Hence, kids in advertisements should be given all support.
