IF YOU are the one who deems that independent buildings are ideal to show off your interior, this apartment house positioned on the first floor could make you reconsider your rooted certainty.
Giving the different facets to their house are Rangaiah, a retired Deputy Transport Commissioner, coupled with his gorgeous wife, Dayananda Kumari, as to what it takes to make your limited space look exceptionally catching.
The contribution being significantly from the capable household - Dayananda and her darling daughter Sameera, the dwelling is an exuberant field of art. Spruced up with numerous paintings, depicting various settings including the transport liners, portraits, Elephants and Horses that could mesmerize the beholder, the walls looked remarkably dolled up.
The innovative usage of stained glass flaps for the low line up of inbuilt shelves in the sitting is attractive.
The self-designed drapes in striking burgundy, covered with a thin film of silky checked material, is unique. Employing a variety of fabrics like Bandhini, silk; the merging of silk with various fabrics with the touch of shining crystal balls used to trim the access-ways and ventilation units is striking. The second foyer with its traditional wooden swing with a backdrop of Veena set on the divan in union with the oil paintings decked on the walls, succeeded to convey the moods, way off.
The dining is an instant winner with its glass-topped table in eye-catching black colour with contrasting glossy gold tablemats.
The kitchen with its easy fixtures, immaculate granite counters and floor, all trimmed using the right tiles and goodies, set the appropriate feel. The accumulation of lengthy vases stuffed with enticing flowers clubbed with beautiful porcelain splendour at the corners of the foyer, is original.
The Tanjore paintings of Lord Krishna and Ganesha and jewellery painting on marble decking the walls, all the input of Sameera for the interior, is enticing.
The bedroom in stunning red bed spreads; with the rare miniature art works in Rajasthani fashion that fetched Sameera a National award in painting, all grouping with added embellishment appeared fascinating.
The perfect combination of conventional and modern settings, mostly utilizing artefacts and hand-made art pieces that can arrest the attention of the spectator, is the approach engaged in making this house, out of the ordinary.
" There has never been a need to hire an interior designer, my daughter and wife together make the finest team of designers," beams Rangaiah.
Artefacts, lighting, including framed art and decorative mirrors, tabletop accessories such as bowls, vases, sculptures, perfume bottles, decorative danglings, jars, candle sticks and candle holders, and artificial flowers are the crowning touch to any interior and design.
In fact, it is the decorative accessories that represent and create the style statement of a room, more so than the furniture does itself. Understanding the embedded importance of quality decorative accessories as complements to furniture has indisputably made this residence stand out.
