Treasure indeed!

HAVING SCORED a triple century , Siri on Doordarshan is going great guns. After starting on a low key with a motley cast of new comers , the story of a young and gritty woman from middle class backdrop making big strides in the corporate world has come to be acknowledged as one of the most successful programmes on telly.

The daily serial by P.V. Rama Mohan Naidu bagged three awards and has recently completed whopping 300 episodes.

A notable achievement particularly when several serials featuring prominent stars from big screen have failed in garnering a respectable viewership.

The Siri team doesn't seem content with the success and says `yeh dil mange more'. Basking in laurels, Naidu says, "three hundred episodes is not enough. We are looking for one more century."

The mega serial has made several stars on the telly turning them into household names overnight apart from reviving the careers of several others. Catch Ashok Rao, Prabhavati, Vijay Yadav, Sri Gowri, Preethi and a host of other artistes in this drama that finely blends emotions and sentiments with retribution in the corridors of rich corporate houses.

TELEVISION INDUSTRY in the city is witnessing a spurt in productions these days. Not a week passes without some new programme going to floor. And, the industry is also abuzz with talks of several new channels preparing to unveil their beam in coming months .
