Impostor menace
MINISTER FOR Mines, Sabita Indra Reddy, is facing a peculiar problem. Of late, the minister and her family members are encountering impostors!
A week ago, a youngster claiming himself as the minister's son, Karthik Reddy, lodged a complaint with the Amberpet police stating he and his friends were beaten up by some hotel workers. The hotel owner, too, gave a complaint saying the minister's son created nuisance. Cases were booked against the two parties.
The minister was embarrassed as word spread about her son's `involvement' in a petty case. Incidentally, probe by the police `revealed' that it was not the minister's son but one of his friends who falsely claimed the status of a minister's son to escape from the nuisance case.
Even as the minister heaved a sigh of relief, came a phone call from the Union Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, asking her to arrange two lakh rupees in cash urgently. Startled over the sudden call, the minister sent her relatives to a place the minister had called.
Well. This time also it was not the Union Minister, but a man neck deep in debts who tried to extort money from the minister .
