It's showtime

'Gharshana' was the first Telugu ShowTime promotion

RELIANCE INDIAMOBILE customers in Andhra Pradesh now have a slice of Telugu filmlore on their hands. Reliance Infocomm joined hands with the producers of the yet to be released Gharshana featuring Telugu superstar, Venkatesh to give customers across the state the possibility of watching the trailer and download wallpapers through the data application suite R World.

At the video conference held at the Banjara Hills outlet in the city, journalists from Hyderabad, Vishakapatnam and Vijayawada were hooked for a tête-à-tête with the film star. After being whisked away to another room, Venkatesh appeared on the screen behind wave upon wave of unrelenting T.V. cameramen. The CEO, A.P. circle, Reliance Infocomm, Balchandran said, "Reliance IndiaMobile ShowTime is a platform that offers customers newer opportunities to engage and interact with celebrities, win prizes and participate in several exciting contests. Now as part of the first ShowTime event in the state, Gharshana joins the big list." Gautam Menon, director of the film who spoke from Chennai said, "I'm happy for this opportunity. It's a pity it was not possible for Kaakha Kaakha. Hopefully this would mean bigger publicity."

"It's a wonderful start to future collaboration between the industries," said Venkatesh. "Now my fans can watch the trailer anytime. The feel of the film is for keeps." Asin the heroine who spoke from Chennai recounted her experiences while working for the film. To this Venkatesh added, "Yes it was a metamorphosis. I had to change my body language for the role." Questions from the media continued to pour in from all quarters directed at company officials and the stars. At the close of the event, Venkatesh was mobbed by fans. To those who were part of the exercise it was a near real life experience with the star, sometimes a shade larger than life too. As good as reaching out to the next cubicle but strangely though nobody shook hands.
