Dream opening

SPIDERMAN-2 OPENED in India collecting Rs. 7.7 crores over Friday to Sunday (July 23-25) weekend from 327 screens. This smashes the opening weekend record of Rs. 5.3 crores set in May 2002 by "Spiderman". Said an ecstatic Uday Singh, managing director of Columbia Tristar: "This is an experience you only dream of. "Spiderman- 2" is likely to become the second largest grosser of all time." But in Tamil Nadu, the film, after taking a fantastic opening, is unlikely to sustain the momentum and in the long run will not cross the collection of "Van Helsing", this year's blockbuster.
