THE EXCITEMENT of the recently concluded European and South American football championships were brought alive once again through Silver Goal '04, a pulsating quiz competition, organised by the FACT Sports Control Board in association with the Ernakulam District Football Association and Viva Kerala, at the Udyogamandal Club.

Thirty-two teams took part in the preliminary written quiz, from which the top six qualified for the final round. The final comprised six rounds with appropriate football terms like Open Net, Back Pass, Fast Goals, Drawn Matches Hard Tackle and Late Goals.

K. V. Parthasarathy and K. V. Gopakumar emerged winners. Olympian footballer O. Chandrasekharan, who was the chief guest, gave away the prizes to the winners. He also recollected some of his golden moments through an interactive session with the quizmaster S. Rajan.
