The Landmark Quiz will be back on August 15 at Music Academy for the 12th time

FORM A team of three and nominate a captain. Give your team an innovative name. For, it's time for the 12th edition of the Landmark Quiz, scheduled to take place on August 15 at the Music Academy.
The Landmark Quiz has been held every year on Independence Day, since 1994, with the idea of attracting the `non-quizzer'. The event has become so successful that it has become the country's biggest open quiz for teams.
To participate all you have to do is fill up a form and return it in person to Landmark, (Apex Plaza, 3, Nungambakkam High Road), where you will be allotted seats.
If you fail to be seated at the venue by 3 p.m. you are liable to lose your allotted seats to wait-listed teams. If you are a wait-listed team, report at the venue by 1.30 p.m.
There is a written preliminary round at 3.30 p.m. where teams have to answer 40 questions which include audios, visuals and video clips. Eight teams make it on stage for the final at 5.30 p.m. which comprises six rounds of general quizzing and two special rounds.
Most of the questions have a contemporary relevance and have been framed so as to be understood by a reasonably well-read person with an interest in general knowledge.
Prizes worth over Rs. 1 lakh can be won. Apart from the first three prizes, there are prizes under different categories — Best School Team, Best School Team - Runner up, Best Corporate Team, Best Team Name and Quizzer of the Year. There are, of course, attractive prizes for the audience too.
The quiz masters are Navin Jayakumar and Gautam Padmanabhan. Entry forms are available at the Landmark outlets in Nungambakkam and Spencer Plaza. The event is brought to you by Expressions Greeting Cards and co-sponsored by The Hindu.
