Freedom songs

RAMAPRIYA, A group of students of Carnatic music, who are training under Chitra Vasudevan [disciple of R. Vedavalli] will present a musical programme `Bharata punya bhoomi' on the eve of Independence Day at Dakshinamurthi Auditorium, P. S. Higher Secondary School, R. K. Mutt Road (6.30 p.m.).

The songs have been taken from Tamil literary works and will focus on pollution, environment conservation and unity. Children from Vidya Sagar, an institution for those with special needs, will also be taking part. Justice Ratnavel Pandian, N. Balasubramanian and Maalan are the guests of honour.
