Going offbeat

ONE APPRECIABLE thing about the Malayalam heroes is that they are not satisfied with their commercial star status. Be it Satyan, Prem Nazir, Madhu or Mammootty, Mohan Lal and Suresh Gopi, they all have done it before — taking up off beat roles and in the process winning national awards too. Known for his light-hearted comedy hero roles, Dileep is the latest to turn towards art-house productions. Joining hands with brother Anoop, he had signed T.V. Chandran to direct Kathaavaseshan. Jyotirmayi plays the lead opposite Dileep.

And this September Jyotirmayi is getting married to Kochi-based software engineer Nishanth. Her repertoire includes Meesamadhavan, Pattalam, Kalyanaraman and Harihara Pillai Happyaanu. The good news, however, is that the actress would continue to act even after marriage.
