Innovative theme

PARTHIPAN IS always trying out something innovative. His new film "Kudaikkul Mazhai", released last Friday, is also something unusual. It is about a television anchor, who fools an auto-driver by pretending to be in love with him. The simple guy that he is, the man is smitten by the beautiful hostess, but when reality dawns on him, he ends up with delusional schizophrenia. Parthipan has shot the whole film inside an old bungalow with virtually two characters. He has tried to capture the working of the mind of a man wrecked by anxieties and paranoia. The actor-director is said to have come out with a mesmerising portrayal as the troubled protagonist, while Madhumita, a Mumbai model, plays his subject of desire.
