"Media role added sheen to Pushkarams"

A guiding spirit

Pushkaram is a holy event that comes only once in 12 years. Many people are aware of it. I feel it would be unfair to give the entire credit for the huge crowds to media alone. As we know that the once-in-12-year religious event is an ancient fete and has been a major crowd-puller during its every round. But, at the same time, one cannot undermine the role played by media during the 12-day period.

If not everyone, at least a large section of pilgrims who descend on the city depend completely on media reports for their future course of action in the next 12-days.

The media reports serve as a guiding spirit to many in the new land where, otherwise, they might have to fend for themselves.
