"Media role added sheen to Pushkarams"

Media undoubtedly played a very important role in Pushkarams. It started publicizing the significance of the event, the history and the present status of temples in and around the place and their association with the 12-day carnival, official arrangements and the additional measures to ensure safety of pilgrims, much in advance which was encouragement enough for many people to march towards the bathing ghats for a holy dip. There were many who did not know what purpose does a holy dip in the Krishna during Pushkarams serve. But the media was helpful and it virtually, egged people on to be part of the celestial event. People maintain a close watch on the developments at the ghats like the crowding or thinning down of the pilgrims on specific days which could be the ideal time for a peaceful dip.
