"Media role added sheen to Pushkarams"

Plays watchdog

Media plays a key role in keeping the public informed about the latest happenings. In addition to doing a commendable job of spreading an awareness among people, it helped them keep abreast of the happenings around them.

So great was the impact of the media on the common man during Pushkarams that one could see people who did not have any idea about the religious carnival, visiting the ghats for a holy dip.

The Government machinery too utilized media to propagate the various programmes organized as part of the 12-day Pushkarams and its other activities aimed at providing better facilities to the pilgrims. Media, thus, certainly influenced the pilgrim rush.
