Nature quiz

And where is this? Your time starts now

THE GROUP for Nature Preservation and Education (GNAPE) is organising an inter school nature quiz competition, GNAPE Quiz 2004, on October 2, at the A.M.M.Matriculation School auditorium, at 1p.m. Each school can send two teams of two members each. The preliminary session involves a written round of about 30 questions. The top eight teams will qualify for the finals.

Special attention has been taken to highlight wildlife and conservation issues. Other topics include wild animals, plants, ecosystems, global hot spots, marine life and wildlife based movies.

The top three prize-winning teams will be taken on a two-day trip to the wet evergreen forests of the Western Ghats, which includes treks and drives around the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary in the Anamalai Hills.

The top team also wins an attractive rolling trophy for their school.
