Beauty pageants: yardstick for woman's self-worth?

Healthy competition

While beauty pageants are a cause for debate between feminists and those of opposing views. Any event that provides an arena for healthy competition between women is a laudable one. If the pageant focuses on all round personality assessment of which physical beauty is just one category it would be a forum for women to become confident individuals.
