Hair styles: Long or short?

Long and short of it

SHORT HAIR for boys and long hair for girls is an absolute norm. Anybody can sport any length of hair nowadays. But even in those good old days, the time taken for a boy to comb his crop was equal to the time taken for a girl to oil, comb, and plait her long hair. The time factor has not changed with the changing times. That short hair saves your time is a myth. Whether it is long or short it is reason enough to stand before a mirror and indulge in a few minutes of narcissism.

Like a strutting peacock we display our mane in various styles only as long as we have it. Once you reach that crucial forty-year mark you are grateful just to have hair on your pate never mind if it is long or short, dark or grey, thick or thin. Retaining a few strands is all that matters. After all, what is a head without hair?
