HE THINKS India is the powerhouse of entrepreneurship and believes that Indian entrepreneurs are waiting to make a mark worldwide. He is Vineet Bajpai, a successful entrepreneur himself, who wishes to help Indian talent make a mark in the field and has come up with "Build from Scratch", a book that attempts to demystify the world of business and enterprise.
Bajpai says that his book is a practical guide for the entrepreneur in the making, management and college students, people from the corporate world and working executives who aspire to own a corporation someday.
"I have included case studies of famous to lesser known entrepreneurs. It is a powerful description of an entrepreneur's journey that includes the struggle, risks, strategies, sacrifices, guidelines and the excellent returns thereafter," says Bajpai, founder and CEO of Magnon Solution, a leading web solutions company. "The book addresses several business areas like high-pressure sales management, low budget manpower retention, career planning, result-orientation, fund-raising and leadership," adds the 26-year-old author.
Not merely motivational
Bajpai, who teaches E-Business and Management Information Systems at a business school in Delhi, says that his book is not to be categorised with motivational books by other writers. It does not also claim to be a compilation of success mantras of entrepreneurship. It rather breaks into the mindset of the Indian entrepreneur. Thirty-five per cent of the book contains motivational reading, including case studies of big and small entrepreneurs. The rest of it is about inspirational experiences of running a company and teaching.
In the words of Jairam Ramesh, reputed economist, who released the book, published by Tara India Research Press, India has been a country of job seekers rather than job providers. With more entrepreneurs coming from the country, the scenario may change. "Build from Scratch" may just help that movement.
