If he is obsessed with the beautification of the city, she revels in grooming her home. Vishnu and Sailaja, both are on a unique adornment spree, says MUBIN SULTAN

SUCCESS DOES not come without any strings attached. It adorns only people gifted with sincerity, hard work and commitment. A fine blend of all the three is V.N.Vishnu, the Vice-Chairman for Vijayawada Guntur Tenali Mangalagiri - Urban Development Authority. His wife, Sailaja, is a conventional Indian housewife who finds pleasure in being a supportive partner, an understanding mother and a talented home-maker.
Obsessive worker
Basking in the success of Pushkarams, Vishnu is only too willing to share his delightful experiences even while relishing the vegetable clear soup, supplemented with crunchy manorian appetizers, chilly prawns, mushroom masala and vegetable spring rolls. One of the key persons in the beautification of the city, Vishnu is proud of the achievements of UDA which reflect his expertise and zeal. Vishnu is the prime force behind the grooming exercise undertaken at the entry points of the city that has turned the place into a visitors' delight.
For him, sanitation matters as much as beautification of a given place and this obsession of the UDA official clearly reflects in the projects taken up by him in Tenali and Guntur. The venture of a flyover on the canal road is close to his heart. "No flyover was ever completed in a record 210 days and I think it is a great achievement on our part," he claims. Vishnu is a native of Hyderabad and his wife hails from Nellore. She enjoys browsing through weeklies and magazines. Embroidery, however, is her favourite pastime. Taking care of her two daughters is something she enjoys the most. "The younger of the siblings, Lasya, is concentrating on IIT entrance test. She intends to appear for the civils.
Internet buff
The elder daughter, Snigdha, shows a clear inclination for management services," she says savouring the vegetable fried rice with mixed vegetable curry.
Vishnu is an Internet buff and thoroughly enjoys online purchase of books. Books related to the subject of management are his favourites. He was also adjudged the best user of Information Technology for service, last year.
After securing a degree in engineering from Osmania University, Vishnu shifted focus on the civil service examinations to satiate his urge to serve the people of his nation. Enjoying the dessert, qurbani ka meetha, he says, "travelling is the best part of my job." He admires the cities of Bangalore and Shillong." He fondly recalls how he was smitten by the scenic beauty of Nainital during a recent official trip. For Sailaja, Bangalore is the best Indian city.
