World music concert

THIS YEAR'S edition of Isha Fest at Poondi saw Manish Vyas, singer and multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist Vani Jairam send the audience into raptures with their music.

Adding to the experience was the display of various folk arts at the multi-religious complex at the Isha Center.

Over the past 10 years, Vyas has worked with many well-known names in the field of new-world music like Deva Premal, Prem Joshua, Chinmaya Dunster and Shastro.

At the Isha Fest, he presented a fusion concert, a mix of vocal and instrumental, based on Indian music.

Notable numbers included Bhoomi Mangalam from Sanskrit mantras, Ishak from his album Sattva, based on Sufi songs and the piece on the monsoon.

He was accompanied by Vikram on the flute, Prem Tanamayo on the violin and keyboard and Amano Manish on the guitar.

Shruti provided vocal support.
