Sign of history...

GRAPHOLOGISTS SAY that signatures are the mirrors of one's personality. But not many people can read signatures but they can definitely enjoy them if they happen to be of great personalities who have left their imprint on the minds of generations and are still doing so.

For those who would like to see signatures and autographs of great personalities from sports, films, literature, art, politics and scientists, models, authors, Maharajas and so on, they have one destination to hang on till this coming Tuesday - AIFACS Gallery A, Mandi House in New Delhi. This India's first-ever rare autograph exhibition titled "Autographex 2004" is being organised by Autograph Collector's Club of India in association with AIFACS. Some 1000 signatures include personalities as Sir Don Baradman, Nelson Mandela, Rabindranath Tagore, Mike Tyson, Bimal Roy, Marlyn Monroe, Albert Einstein, Dalai Lama, Laurel and Hardy and many many more. These autographs on photographs, letters, sketches carry one theme: peace.

The occasion also saw the unveiling of a book titled "Autograph Collecting for the Beginners" authored by S.S. Hitkari, honorary president of the club.
