COMEDY IS not a genre one would associate with Chiranjeevi, as over the past decade, his forte has been mass entertainers with dialogues that have punch.
His "Shankar Dada MBBS", a remake of "Munnabhai MBBS", produced by Gemini Film Circuit, is releasing worldwide this Friday. In Chennai, the film is opening at Satyam and Casino and the question is whether this light-hearted entertainer with a tried and tested formula will be a success.
Chiranjeevi's fans need not worry as the film has been reworked with a local flavour. "Shankar Dada MBBS" also has Srikanth, Sonali Bendre and Paresh Rawal and is directed by Jayant.
The film has been sold at a record price to distributors.
