Zee Alpha seems to be reworking on its programmes and priorities in a bid to reach out to more Telugu audience.

COMEDY AND consistency at that, happens to be Ram Jagan's forte. The talented actor popular for his shiny pate is busy these days shooting for `Nine', a crime thriller for Gemini, and a socio-drama `Anubandhalu'. Jagan, who made his acting debut on big screen with `Mangalya Balam' and was noticed for his performance in the Nagarjuna-starrer, `Shiva', has proved his mettle on the small screen with consistency and a wide array of emotions. He is among the few actors whose talent cuts across channel barriers and is seen virtually on all of them.
Jagan is very possessive of his tonsured look and talks zealously about it. Ask if he is planning to allow the hair to sprout, Jagan is vehement in his denial. "No way, the look is here to stay," he says. But, why? In an impish tone, the actor admits, "my girlfriends like the shiny pate and are against any change."
Nagaastram on ETV
This one comes with an engaging plot. `Nagaastram', the new serial shown on ETV during the weekends, makes for an engrossing viewing, complete with a good story and some impressive graphics. A blighted village is where the story about a lost idol of the presiding deity unfolds. The narrative meanders as the search for the idol, with which the fortunes and prosperity of the village are tied, shifts into top gear. The serial comes with good technical support and appears set for a long and popular run.
Sixth sense on Zee Alpha
After a poor initial run, Zee Alpha seems to be on way of finding the right content for the channel. The new serials that are being made for the channel include `Sixth Sense', a thriller laced with supernatural drama.
A gritty cop is haunted with visions that tell the hidden story behind different crimes in his jurisdiction.
He uses the images that come visiting him during sleep to find solution to crimes that were consigned to unsolved category.
The serial is being shot on real locations and include a gripping chase picturised in the slums of old city. Sasidhar, who made a mark with his portrayal of cop roles in earlier productions, dons the uniform again and is joined by Kanishka, Anu, Mangala, Rajeswari and Ajay Ghosh. Vinay Gnanamani directs the serial for producers, Fareed, Masood and Sajid.
