ESPN STAR Sports provides you a chance with "Closeup Dream Job - Harsha Ki Khoj"
|
THIS COULD be many a cricket fan's dream sitting in the box and commentating along with Wasim Akram, Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and Harsha Bhogle. If he can effortlessly tongue twisters and and reel off great lines the dream need not remain just that.
He can actually sit with these four and add to their observations on an unfolding game. The good news is that Harsha Bhogle himself is "anchoring" an ESPN STAR Sports hunt for such a commentator. Called the "Closeup Dream Job - Harsha Ki Khoj," the hunt invites aspirants to call on a number and leave a one-minute commentary on an imaginary situation. "The participant can come up with as incredible a situation as India in the world football finals," laughs Bhogle. "The situation does not matter, but how he presents it does. The aspirant will be assessed for spontaneity, articulation, intelligence and confidence."
The one-minute voice will then be judged by ESPN STAR Sports; the selected participants will later be invited for auditions in six cities - Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Lucknow, Chennai and Kolkata. A panel of three judges, will be present at each of the cities to adjudicate the winners. The short-listed candidates will be invited for studio auditions.
Bhogle will host the studio rounds. The celebrity judges' panel for the final round includes Gavaskar, Geoff Boycott, Akram and Shastri. ESPN STAR Sports will broadcast a 14-episode serial of the talent search, starting from November, 2004. The winner will get a one-year contract with ESPN as presenter.
