Testing the waters

TAMIL SUPERSTAR Vikram has recently made inroads into Andhra Pradesh. His hits, "Pitamagan", "Samurai" and "Sethu", were dubbed into Telugu and did excellent business. While "Saamy" is now being dubbed, "Dhill" and "Arul" have already been remade in Telugu. Added to that, Vikram can speak fluent Telugu as he began his career there. And last week, the dubbing rights of his film "Anniyan", directed by Shankar, were snapped up by a Telugu producer for an all-time record price. Recently, the actor was in Hyderabad for the shoot of "Anniyan" which is "Aparichitudu" in Telugu. Many leading Telugu producers approached him to do a straight Telugu film as he has not given a date to any Tamil producer after Anniyan".
