POTHYS, PONDY Bazaar, has unveiled four silk sari collections this Deepavali.
The Kaviyakadhal collection is inspired by the Puranas and uses such motifs as swan, peacock, mango and lamps on the pallu. The prices range from Rs.10,000 to Rs. 25,000.
The Subamangala collection, ideal for auspicious occasions, comprises saris with contrast borders and meena buttas. The prices range between Rs. 5,000 and Rs.30,000.
Handwork such as kasuti, arni, tikki, mirror work, zardosi and Kashmiri embroidery on Kanchipuram silks marks the Embroidery collection. The prices vary between Rs. 5,000 and Rs.30,000.
And finally, the Divine collection which translates various aspects of temple architecture on saris.
Six yards of silk
SARIS ARE the flavour of this season. To capture the spirit of Deepavali, Shree, Usman Road, T. Nagar, has to offer saris in bright hues, embellished with embroidery, zardosi and zari work.
Art silk, Kanchipuram silk, Benarasi, Dhaka, jute, crepe, chiffon, Chettinad, Bengal cotton... there's a variety of fabrics to choose from. Also available are salwar kurtas, kurtis and party wear.

Poetry in diamonds
IT'S Raining diamonds at Prince jewellery, which has launched the Eterna range. The collection comprises diamond-studded necklaces, earrings, bracelets, bangles and rings set with diamonds in interesting designs. As for the prices, the pieces are priced Rs. 25,000 upward.
