THE SIGNBOARD reads: "European, Chinese and Indian." The Rendezvous is, in fact, one of the few places in Koramangala serving multicuisine food.
Located on the busy 80 Feet Road, this year-old restaurant offers a huge variety of dishes to choose from. The Rendezvous is spread over two floors, an open ground floor and a party-cum-eating place on the first floor that seats about 170 people. The dιcor is very contemporary, with beech wood and wrought iron furniture.
Steaks and pastas
"Our range of steaks and pastas are special," say managers Shekhar and Poojary. And there are many steaks, including paneer, Swiss, mushroom, garlic, and Indian. Among the other exclusive items are the fritters, which are freshly prepared pancakes stuffed with cheese and sauce, and are served with mashed potatoes or French fries and salads.
Non-veg range
There are also a whole range of non-vegetarian and vegetarian snacks such as fried onion rings, hot pepper paneer and kalmi kabab to pick from. All salads and soups are served with garlic bread and the grilled sandwiches are served with salad and French fries. You can also have some interesting burgers and Italian pizzas too. Try peppernotta — a delicious mix of boiled veggies in a fiery creamy sauce topped with loads of cheese.
If you would like to try something different, check out the herbed chicken garnished with dried herbs, mushrooms and onions, and served with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Chinese cuisine includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian snacks, noodles, fried rice as well as Szechwan-style dishes. Alternatively, try the Indian fare comprising curries, tandoori rotis and rice.
Sundaes
And to cater to your sweet tooth I a range of special sundaes and desserts. Rain Dream sundae is a combination of three flavours of ice-cream with chocolate sauce and nuts and After 8 has mint coco chips and chocolate ice-cream topped with hot chocolate sauce and whipped cream. "While we have a really huge menu, we have not compromised on quality and maintain high standards of cleanliness," says Poojary.
The fast and efficient service, not to mention the reasonable prices, makes The Rendezvous an ideal place for a family get-together. There is definitely something to satisfy everyone's taste. While the seating on the ground floor may seem a little noisy, the cool confines of the first floor are definitely suited for a nice, quiet dinner.
Home delivery
Free home delivery is available within a radius of three kilometres and the restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
