HER MOTHER died when she was small, her father was disturbed all the time and sister was bad enough in temperament to take an emotional recourse to. Her friends, especially men proved to be immature to understand her plight. So she started taking her own decisions in life; out of which one was to fall in love with an older man. This, not to hurt her father or friends as she herself was fragile and sensitive, but because she, with her experience, found out that men grow only after 40.
Hold on. Don't be upset. This is the reel story of Sunaina of Kuch Love Kuch Masti, the ongoing serial on Sahara One. As Neena in the serial, Sunaina, an Indian Institute of Mass Communication product is "only exploring the possibility of becoming an actress more for reasons of visibility than finances".
"These days it is every girl's dream to be seen on screen, I am also one of them. I wasn't sure if I would get a chance to see my dream fulfilled because I never made a portfolio, never sent it to anyone," says Sunaina, in New Delhi to promote the serial. But it was winning the title of September 2000 MTV VJ contest that paved the way to modelling and then the idiot box.
Sunaina, who did her graduation from Delhi University in Political Science and Economics and was also a college President, always wanted to do MBA but her "inability to deal with Maths fetched negative marks" in her entrance test and she couldn't get through. But now she is happy experimenting with acting. "If I fail, I have a strong academic background to fall back on".
Right!
