Ajit is "Godfather"
IT LOOKS like Ajit has bid goodbye to motor racing and has decided to take his movie career more seriously. His Deepavali release "Attakasam" has proved that he continues to be a big draw at the box-office. Now Ajit is once again teaming up with K. S. Ravikumar, commercially the most successful director in the Tamil film industry, for "Godfather". The actor plays a triple role in the film, that of an ageing tycoon and his two sons. Asin and a Mumbai model play the heroines. Ravikumar says the film has nothing to do with Francis Ford Coppola's classic by the same name. "It is a typical mass movie which will strike a balance between style and substance. My combination with Ajit has worked in the past."
Ravikumar is bringing together ace cameraman P. C. Sreeram, art director Thotta Tharani, lyricist Vairamuthu and music wizard A. R. Rahman for the film. Produced by Nic Arts S. S. Chakaravarthy, "Godfather" is scheduled for release in May 2005.
