JUDGING TALENT: Ravi Sastri and Perizaad

"HARSHA KI Khoj' on ESPN has received an overwhelming response from viewers across India.

Targeted at sports lovers who want to become presenters like Harsha Bhogle, the talent search programme offers an enviable prize — a one-year contract with ESPN as a presenter.

The first level contestants phoned in their audition and the best among them were invited to participate in the city finals, held in six cities.

The contestants were judged on the basis of their presentation skills, voice, diction, language, knowledge of the game and screen presence.

Two from Chennai — Ashwin Rajagopalan, a marketing communications professional, and Swapna Mitra, a bank employee — were selected.

They will now go to Bangladesh, where they will have an opportunity to do live commentary during the ensuing India-Bangladesh Test Series. The judges for the Chennai round were Ravi Shastri, Perizaad Zorabian and John Dykes.
