SITTING IN a cozy corner AT Le Meridien's Chinese restaurant, Dino Morea, he of smashing good looks and impressive physique, takes a long breath after finishing three kilometre fun-filled walk from Children's Park to National Stadium. He was in New Delhi the other day to create awareness about health and fitness in a society notoriously indifferent towards such issues. "As a nation we are ignorant towards the importance of fitness and health. Anybody can take a walk in the morning to stay fit," feels Dino who participated in the Catch Clear Walk for Fitness. What he leaves unsaid is people still prefer to laze around at home, growing round bellies. "The only way out to keep these programmes going is repetition. We need to organise more such runs," he adds.
Fine run
Talking of runs, Dino has been having a fine run in Bollywood right since the time Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi was released and the masses hummed its songs, and then Raaz became a major hit. "Yes, I guess I have been lucky. But I have been here only for a three years. I still have miles to go."
And as he goes long distance, he has earned for himself the rare privilege of acting opposite the beautiful Jaya Prada, many years his senior. "She has done something 150-200 films. I have just started. I learnt a lot working with her."
Well, he may not entirely be at ease with the power of expression, someday somewhere he would like to step into shoes of Amitabh Bachchan. Says Dino Morea, famous model turned successful actor, "For most of us he is a role model. Like him, if I can contribute towards making abetter society, why not? I would love to be an ambassador for creating awareness about fatal diseases like HIV-AIDS and polio."
After all, Zhe adds, "life is all about living it to the fullest." Then he takes for Mumbai to celebrate his birthday in style. Yes, this Thursday, Dino turns 29.
